Sybilla & Liam | A Garden Wedding at Greyleigh

Set amongst the rolling gardens of Greyleigh, Sybilla and Liam’s wedding weekend felt like stepping into a love story that had been quietly unfolding for years.

The pair first met as teenagers at Sybilla’s Year 12 formal, both attending with other dates but repeatedly catching each other’s eye from across the room. What began as a brief young romance quickly revealed something deeper. Even then, Sybilla remembers sensing Liam’s steady kindness and the warmth of the country family he came from.

Life took them in different directions not long after. Liam moved rurally for university while Sybilla travelled overseas, but the connection never fully disappeared. Years later, when their paths crossed again, it felt like no time had passed at all. A little older and a little wiser, they stepped straight back into the relationship that had always felt meant to be. Their life together eventually took root in Mudgee during lockdown, where slower country living, complete with dogs, chickens and a thriving veggie patch, helped them find their rhythm as a couple.

Their wedding at Greyleigh reflected that same sense of grounded love: personal, joyful and deeply family-centred. Sybilla’s 93-year-old grandfather proudly carried the rings down the aisle, while nieces and nephews greeted Liam with big hugs as they reached the end of the aisle. There were readings from loved ones, including a touching excerpt from Winnie the Pooh, and more than a few happy tears before the couple were finally pronounced husband and wife beneath a shower of confetti.

Captured beautifully alongside the ever-talented Lucy Blake, the day was later featured in Together Journal - a fitting home for a celebration so full of heart.

A weekend that perfectly captured what their relationship has always been about - choosing each other, every single day.
